We are thrilled to announce the upcoming AEHT Riga Short Experience Program, an immersive journey into Europe’s rich culinary heritage! The program, titled “Cultural and Culinary Experience: The Culinary Heritage of Europe – From Ancient Times to the Present”, will take place in Riga from 6th to 9th November 2024.

This unique program offers participants the opportunity to explore the evolution of European cuisine through hands-on experiences, engaging workshops, and cultural insights. Whether you’re a professional in the hospitality industry or simply passionate about culinary traditions, this program promises to be an enriching and enjoyable experience for all.

Important Information:

The registration fee covers your participation and accommodation from 6th to 9th November. However, if you plan to arrive in Riga earlier than the 6th, you will need to arrange and cover the cost of additional nights directly with the hotel.

The “Suitu vīri” (Suiti Men) are a traditional male singing group from the Suiti cultural region in Latvia, which is located in the western part of the country, particularly in and around the town of Alsunga. The Suiti community is known for its rich cultural heritage, especially its unique folk music traditions.

The European Culinary Heritage Network has been operating for 17 years and gathering 44 European regions, which include almost one and a half thousand participants: companies, cooks, home producers, associations, technical schools, cafes.

Getting to know Latvia’s special products, which are included in the EU Protected Products Register, and invites you to enjoy the taste of Europe.

Six unique Latvian products have been registered in the registers of protected product names in the EU – Sklandrausis, Salted rye bread and Jāņu cheese; registration of protected designations of origin – Latvian large gray peas; and registration of protected indications of geographical origin – Carnikava lamprey and Rucavas white butter.
